Choice 4: John 3 We Must Be Born Again

  • What is the difference between "seeing" kingdom of God and "entering" the kingdom of God?                 I don't think there is much difference between seeing and entering because in both instances Jesus states that a man must be born again. However, there may be a slight difference because seeing suggests being on the outside looking in and entering suggesting actually being apart of the kingdom of God.
  • What did Christ teach Nicodemus that he must do to enter the kingdom of God?                             Christ taught that in order to enter the kingdom of God a man must be born of water and of the Spirit.
  • What does is mean to be "born of water"?                                                                                          To be born of water mean to be baptized and repent of all our sins.
  • Read Moses 6:59 and list ways baptism is a symbol of rebirth.                                                               -being cleansed                                                                                                                                     -sanctified from all sin                                                                                                                                        -enjoy  the words of eternal life and glory
  • Read Romans 6:4 and list ways baptism can be a symbol of death.                                                          -you are buried and raised up                                                                                                                -ye should walk in newness of life
  • What does it mean to be "born of the Spirit"?                                                                                           Being born of the Spirit is done after baptism and is receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands.
  • What natural element does the Lord compare with the Spirit? Why is it an effective comparison?         The Lord compares the Spirit to wind. This is effective because both wind and the Spirit are heard and not seen and must be carefully listened to in order to hear.
  • Review John 3:14-17, 35-36. Write a paragraph that describes who the Father loves, what he has done to show his love for his children and for Jesus Christ, what the purpose of the savior was, and what blessings will come to those who accept the Son.                                                                                   God loves the world and His only begotten Son Jesus Christ. He showed His love by giving His only begotten Son as a Savior to the world. The purpose of the Savior was to bring everlasting life and save the world. Those who accept the Son will have everlasting life and shall not perish.
