1. What was the reaction on the disciples when they first saw the Savior walking on the water towards them?
At first the disciples saw Christ walking on water and we frightened because they thought it was a spirit.
2. What did Peter's response indicate about him?

3. According to Matthew 14:30, why did Peter begin to sink?
Peter started to sin because he was frightened by how rough the water and wind were.
4. What did Peter do when he began to sink? What word in the verse describes the expediency or timing when Jesus responded to Peter's request?
When Peter began to sink he called out for Jesus Christ's help and immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand and caught him.
5. Read Doctrine and Covenants 88:67. Write a paragraph about what principle in this verse relates to what Peter did to successfully walk on water. How can this same principle apply to your life to assist you in walking over the storms of life?
In this scripture we are taught to be filled with the light and if we are dedicated to Christ and to the work of the Lord we will have this light within us. When Peter asked Christ to allow him to walk on water he had that faith and dedication to Christ. He believed in Christ's abilities and knew that through the power of the priesthood he could receive any righteous desire. As we struggle in our own lives we can remember to have the dedication to the Lords work and that if we are filled with that light and that love it will help us through the storms. If we remember to follow the gospel and magnify our callings we will have the light of the Lord to help us understand and handle difficult situations.
