Events that took place during the Savior’s final week of mortality

Day 1
Jesus arrived in Jerusalem and was welcomed as the blessed Son of David.
Day 2
Jesus went to the temple and challenged the Jewish leaders about their temple worship and how they had defiled the temple by making it a place of worldly gain.
Day 3
Jesus’ discussion with the Jewish leaders continues and when they feel they have lost the upper hand they begin to plot how to kill him. However, one of Jesus’ own disciples offers to betray him.
Day 4
There is not much about the happenings of this day, but Jesus knew of the plot of his death.
Day 5
Jesus introduced the sacrament and prophesied of his death and who would betray him. Jesus led his disciples (now 11) to Gethsemane where he went off to pray. He was brought to trial that night.
Day 6
The Jewish leaders strive to find guilt in Christ and sentence him to death without causing an uprising against them. He was crucified that night, but the Jewish leaders didn’t want the body to still be displayed during the Passover the next day. So he was buried that night and sealed in a tomb by two of his disciples.
Day 7 (Sabbath)
“This was the Jewish Sabbath. Jesus’ body remained in the tomb, but in spirit he ministered in the realm of departed spirits.”
Day of the Resurrection
Jesus was risen and seen by many witness, including Mary.
